Nothando Hlophe Returns to Spirit of Praise With the Powerful Mmeli Wami

Spirit of Praise reunites with Nothando Hlophe on Mmeli Wami (Live), a stirring worship moment that turns trust, testimony and the assurance of divine advocacy into song.

Recorded as part of the Spirit of Praise 12 live experience, Mmeli Wami begins from a deeply personal place. Nothando’s voice rises through the scale of the live recording, carrying a message centred on Jesus as the Advocate who remains present and stands for believers through life’s most difficult moments.

Written by Nothando Hlophe and produced by Sabu Satsha, the song draws from Methodist worship tradition while opening into the power of contemporary African gospel. Its celebratory spirit is matched by emotional conviction, moving between personal testimony and the collective energy of a congregation responding together.

The release also marks Nothando’s return to Spirit of Praise following her entry into the Royal Family of Eswatini, making Mmeli Wami a significant reunion as well as a new chapter in her relationship with the celebrated gospel collective.

Mmeli Wami emerges from a milestone season for Spirit of Praise. The Spirit of Praise 12 live recording filled Pretoria’s SunBet Arena with 10,000 worshippers in July 2026, continuing the collective’s tradition of transforming large-scale live performances into deeply intimate worship experiences.
