Andiswa Nhlweni Releases New Single ‘Phefumlela’

South African gospel singer Andiswa Nhlweni has released her latest single titled Phefumlela. The track is now available on all major streaming platforms.

Phefumlela is a spiritually charged song that means “breathe on me” in isiXhosa. The single showcases Andiswa’s strong vocals and her deep connection to worship music. It is built around a slow, soulful arrangement with minimal instrumentation, allowing the lyrics to take center stage.

Andiswa describes the song as a personal prayer. “I wrote Phefumlela during a difficult time in my life. I needed God to breathe life into every dry area. This song came from that cry,” she said.

The song has already gained traction among gospel fans on digital platforms. Within 24 hours of its release, it entered the Apple Music Gospel chart in South Africa.

Andiswa first gained national attention through her work with various gospel choirs and collaborations with artists such as Ayanda Ntanzi and Nqubeko Mbatha. Phefumlela marks her first solo release of 2025 and signals a more personal direction in her music.
