Bongile Mantsai Uses Entertainment Influence to Bring Youth Closer to God

Actor and pastor Bongile Mantsai says he is using his platform in the entertainment industry to draw people closer to God. The former Scandal! star shared that his ministry has attracted many young people who admire him both as an artist and a spiritual leader.

Through his church, Mantsai mentors aspiring actors, helping them navigate the challenges of the industry while strengthening their faith. He told Daily Sun that his goal is to inspire young people to pursue their dreams without losing sight of their spiritual values.

“I come from a Christian background. My father was a pastor before he became a bishop, and he trained me to become a pastor. I then became a youth pastor,” he said.

When he returns home to Cape Town, Mantsai focuses on community work. “I work with youth a lot. I’m a developer and work with communities,” he said.

Mantsai uses his creative talents to connect with young people. “Before I became an actor, I was a composer, so I’m a music writer. I used to sing, clap and tap, I still do. So, that’s my influence. The tool that I’m using to draw young people into my church is to use what I have, which is acting and music,” he explained.

He said visitors to his church experience both his passion for music and the word of God. “At the same time, they will get the word and music because that’s my strong point,” he said.

Mantsai also expressed gratitude to his supporters. “I want to say to them that they must keep on supporting not only me but the industry and our fellow actors. There are so many shows being cancelled recently, and people are running out of jobs, but it doesn’t mean that we are not human beings. Sometimes when our fans see us without a job, they think that now he’s back home. It’s part of life. We just need prayers and support,” he said.

Through his dual role as an actor and pastor, Bongile Mantsai continues to inspire young people to pursue their creative dreams while staying rooted in faith.
