Gospel Powerhouse Zaza Mokhethi Returns with New Single and Live DVD Recording

Renowned gospel artist Zaza Mokhethi is back, stirring excitement in the gospel music scene with her fresh single and plans for a highly anticipated live DVD recording.

In April 2025, Zaza released her latest single titled uMoya ka Thixo, a heartfelt song that serves as a prelude to her upcoming live DVD. Despite minimal marketing efforts, the single has resonated strongly with fans, gaining traction both locally and internationally.

Speaking to Daily Sun, Zaza shared her delight about the single’s reception: “People love the song. I didn’t even put much into marketing it because it was just a build-up for the live DVD. But I’m actually happy with how well it’s doing.” To further engage her growing fanbase, especially those outside South Africa, she also released a lyric video, enabling listeners worldwide to sing along.

The live DVD recording is scheduled for 9 August 2025, though the venue is yet to be announced. Zaza chose this date intentionally, highlighting her dedication to empowering women and her belief that the nation needs a spiritual revival. “I’m very passionate about women, hence the day. And I believe we are in a season where the nation needs to go back to God and cry and pray. I’m trusting God for His move through this project,” she said.

With a clear mission to bring healing through music, Zaza expressed her hopes for the live recording: “My prayer is for the songs to bring healing to the people who need it. So many are going through anxiety, depression, and difficult situations. I want the songs to deliver what they’re meant to.”

The theme of the event, The Sound of Gratitude, reflects her gratefulness for new opportunities. Zaza revealed how her career is expanding beyond South Africa, with many bookings now coming from international locations. “God has opened doors for me outside of Mzansi. Most of my bookings are now international. People overseas love the music, and I’ve started working with artists from countries like the US, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and Rwanda,” she said.

Her debut live DVD, featuring the hit song Diphiri, propelled her into the international spotlight. This success inspired her to collaborate with various artists from across the continent and beyond, creating a diverse musical experience. “I found myself thinking it wasn’t fair to only perform my songs, so I started writing music with artists from other countries. It happened naturally,” Zaza shared.

While guest performers for the upcoming live DVD are yet to be confirmed, Zaza is carefully considering her choices. “In my last two albums, I gave a platform to up-and-coming artists. But now I feel like maybe I need to bring established artists who are ready to shine with me. I haven’t confirmed anyone yet, but yes, there will definitely be guest performers,” she revealed.
