Ncebakazi Msomi Celebrates The Talent Behind The 37th Psalm

Ncebakazi Msomi’s latest album, The 37th Psalm, showcases a remarkable assembly of vocalists, musicians, and production talent, each contributing to a project that blends musical excellence with spiritual depth. The decision to hold back the full credits allowed listeners time to absorb and appreciate the different vocal nuances, accents, and musical textures that God inspired in this work. From the soaring sopranos to grounding altos and perfectly timed tenor ad-libs, each element was intentionally crafted to enhance the album’s worshipful impact.

The vocal ensemble delivers standout performances throughout the album. Sopranos Buhle Ditshego, Rorisang Ndzimande, and Thembi Mbonyana impressed listeners on high notes in tracks like Hosanna and Manzi. Altos Lerato Molefe, Fafa Segoneco, and Tsholofelo Moloantoa held down the harmonic foundation across every song, while tenors Nhlanhla Sibisi, Zamaokuhle Nkosi, and Khaya Sibanyoni added perfectly timed ad-libs on tracks such as Bulelani Hymn, Yebo NguYe, and Selinamandla. Vocal direction and coaching by Pastor Unathi Mzekeli and Pastor Buhle Thela ensured that every voice was polished, expressive, and aligned with the album’s spiritual message.

The instrumentation on The 37th Psalm elevates the worship experience. Produced by Siyanqoba Mthethwa, the band features Siyanqoba on piano, Sphiwe “Magic-hands” Ngcobo on organ, Sphiwe Moloi on bass guitar, Frank Mavhimira on lead guitar, Ntokozo “Smiley” Mdluli on drums, Sinethemba Hlengetwa on saxophone, and Lebogang Ledwaba on violin. Each musician brought technical precision and emotional depth, complementing the vocalists and enhancing the album’s overall atmosphere.

Technical production played a vital role in bringing the project together. Tatenda Gurupira handled mixing and mastering to ensure clarity and balance, while executive producers Musa Msomi, Ncebakazi Msomi, and Lindelani Mkhize guided the album’s vision. Additional contributions from the Assemblies of God Choir (Tshwane AOG, Sandton City AOG, and Orlando AOG), sound and stage teams Murangi Productions and Aaron Nkosi, and the project core team reinforced the collaborative effort required to realize this ambitious work. Photography, graphics, styling, and wardrobe by dedicated professionals further enriched the album’s presentation.

The album emphasizes spiritual integrity and obedience to God, a principle embraced by producer Siyanqoba Mthethwa. Ncebakazi Msomi highlights that every contributor played a role in manifesting this vision, from vocalists and musicians to technical and creative teams. Listeners are encouraged to reflect on the performances, recognize the effort behind the scenes, and release blessings over the artists who contributed to this impactful project.

The 37th Psalm is a testament to collaboration, talent, and faith, offering a worship experience that resonates deeply while celebrating the individuals whose dedication and skill brought the album to life.
