Xolly Mncwango Triumphs at Metro FM Music Awards 2025 with Double Win and Heartfelt Tribute

Gospel sensation Xolly Mncwango experienced a night to remember at the 2025 Metro FM Music Awards, securing two prestigious accolades: Best Gospel Album for her acclaimed project Unusual and Best Female Artist. The ceremony, held at Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga, celebrated South Africa’s musical talents, and Xolly’s achievements stood out as a testament to her artistry and dedication. 

During her acceptance speech, Xolly delivered an emotional tribute to the late gospel legends and entertainment industry contributors who have passed on, honoring their legacy and the foundation they laid for artists like herself. She expressed heartfelt gratitude for the recognition, stating, “This recognition means so much to me. I give all the glory to God for His guidance and the strength He has given me throughout my musical journey.”

Hailing from Richards Bay in KwaZulu-Natal, Xolly’s journey into the spotlight began with her roots in her church’s worship team. Her talent was noticed by renowned South African music producer Lindelani Mkhize, leading to her involvement with the esteemed Joyous Celebration collective in the mid-2010s.

Her debut solo album, Jesus Is Enough (2020), marked a defining moment in her career, emphasizing themes of faith and healing. She followed this success with her sophomore project, Unusual, which continued her exploration of faith through music.

The Metro FM Music Awards are known for celebrating excellence in South African music, and Xolly’s achievements at the event highlight her hard work and commitment to her craft. With her albums making waves and her influence growing, particularly through social media platforms like TikTok, Xolly’s future in the music industry is promising.
