Top South African gospel singer Putuma Tiso is on a mission to bring healing through worship. The celebrated vocalist, originally from Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape, believes that worshipping God is the best medicine to heal, especially in a world where so many are silently battling pain, loss, and hardship.
Putuma, known for her powerful voice and deep spiritual connection, is preparing to record her fourth live album titled Healing in Worship. The recording is set to take place on 18 July 2025 at Goshen City Church in Johannesburg, and fans can expect a moving and uplifting experience — with a surprise international guest appearance promised on the night.
“I want to remind everyone going through challenges that worship is one of the most powerful tools for healing,” she shared. “My mission is to help people recover what the devil has stolen from them through worship.”
Putuma Tiso’s journey in music began in 2004 when she was discovered by Bishop Benjamin Dube, who brought her on board as a backing vocalist. Since then, she has worked with some of South Africa’s greatest gospel legends, including Sfiso Ncwane and the late Hugh Masekela. Her talent and dedication have earned her a respected place in the gospel industry.
In 2016, she stepped into the spotlight with her debut solo album Jesu Dwala. Although that first project wasn’t recorded live, Putuma quickly embraced the power of live worship. In 2017, she released her first live album, Back to the Journey of Grace, which cemented her status as a solo artist with a unique calling.
Now more mature and focused in her ministry, Putuma is promising something fresh with Healing in Worship. She’s teaming up with renowned producer Siyanqoba Mthethwa, known for crafting some of the best gospel music in the country. Their collaboration is expected to deliver a new sound that blends depth, soul, and spiritual intensity.
Putuma also expressed her deep gratitude for Bishop Dube, who she says played a major role in launching her career. “He discovered me and believed in my gift before I fully believed in myself,” she said.
As she prepares for her live recording in July, Putuma Tiso is calling on all worshippers and gospel lovers to join her in a night of healing, hope, and holy encounter.
If you believe in the power of worship and are looking for restoration, mark 18 July on your calendar — Putuma Tiso is ready to lead you into a night of Healing in Worship.
