Gospel music is often celebrated as a tool for healing and worship, yet it also serves as a window into the personal journeys of the artists themselves. Arthur Ndindoo Ndindani, a gospel singer from Malamulele, Limpopo, now based in Johannesburg, has shared the story behind his latest song, ‘Bomba,’ revealing a season of loss, doubt, and spiritual reflection.
At 46, Ndindani recalls a time when he questioned whether his career path and purpose still made sense. Amid these struggles, he experienced a powerful reminder from God that true joy does not come from an absence of hardship but from navigating and overcoming it. His faith and gratitude became the foundation for the song.
“‘Bomba’ captures that feeling of release, that moment when you realise you’ve made it through, not by your own strength, but by grace,” Ndindani said. “There was a time when things felt heavy both spiritually and emotionally. I was pushing through challenges in my career, facing personal losses, and questioning whether the path I was on still made sense. It was during that time that I felt God reminding me that joy is not the absence of struggle, but the victory that follows it.”
Writing the song helped Ndindani reconnect with his original purpose: to inspire hope through music. “It’s very personal. It’s a reflection of coming out of a dark place and choosing to celebrate again. That’s why the song says, I made it through, and now I dance not just because everything is perfect, but because I’m grateful,” he explained.
Ndindani emphasized that faith is not about avoiding difficulties but finding strength and meaning within them. “When things aren’t going well, I go back to prayer, to the Word, and to gratitude. I remind myself of every season I’ve already come through, and that keeps me grounded. Music has always been my way of processing pain and turning it into praise.”
‘Bomba’ stands as both a personal testimony and a source of encouragement for listeners, reminding audiences that joy is rooted in faith, resilience, and gratitude, even in life’s most challenging seasons.
