South African gospel singer Lebohang Kgapola has announced the postponement of her highly anticipated live recording event, Come Lord Jesus, originally scheduled for June 7, 2025, at 3C Ministries in Centurion. The decision comes following medical advice, as the artist prioritizes her health and recovery.
In a heartfelt statement shared on her official platforms, Kgapola expressed her deep regret:
“It breaks my heart to share this, but due to health reasons and under my doctor’s advice, we have to postpone the Come Lord Jesus Live Recording that was set for 7 June 2025. This is not an easy decision, but one that’s necessary for healing. A new date will be shared when the time is right. Please keep me in your prayers — your patience, love, and support mean more than words can say.”
She concluded her message with a verse from Philippians 1:6:
“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
Prior to this announcement, Kgapola had shared the challenges her family was facing. Her child, Enelo, was diagnosed with rhino/enterovirus bronchiolitis, a condition that has been particularly severe. In a previous post, she wrote:
“This past week and a couple of days have been a terrible time for our family. Enelo’s been diagnosed with rhino/enterovirus bronchiolitis. We are prayerfully dealing with its severity and trusting for total healing. The silence has been quite loud with regards to Come Lord Jesus Live recording—please note the early bird special ends Monday. Please keep getting the tickets and thank you to everyone who’s been buying 🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️ link in bio. Back soon.”
In a personal note shared earlier, Kgapola detailed her health struggles leading up to the event:
“As I prepare for my live recording on 7 June 2025, I find myself walking through one of the most challenging seasons of my journey as a singer and minister. After experiencing ongoing vocal strain, I recently saw ENT specialist Dr. Lance Maron and I was diagnosed with vocal inflammation, swelling, and strain caused by acid reflux — something I have battled for years but that intensified postpartum. It has been a lot to take in, but I am grateful to be under the care of a dedicated medical team, and I have started a treatment plan that includes medication, speech therapy, and vocal coaching. To be honest, this has been one of the most emotionally and spiritually stretching seasons of my life. However, I believe with all my heart that even this is part of the process. That somehow, God is still writing a beautiful testimony through it all. I am doing everything I can on my end — but I also know the power of prayer. Therefore, I am asking you, my community and prayer warriors, lift me up in prayer, believe with me. Let us go to war. Let us pray as I trust God for complete healing and restoration. The songs are ready. My heart is ready. I’m standing in faith that my voice will follow. Even through this season, I know God is preparing something beautiful. See you on the 7th of June — expecting nothing less than a move of God.”
Kgapola’s journey in gospel music began at the tender age of seven in Emalahleni, Mpumalanga. Over the years, she has collaborated with renowned artists such as Khaya Mthethwa, Neville D, and Ernie Smith. Her debut album, Christ Revealed, released in 2018, received critical acclaim and multiple award nominations, solidifying her place in the South African gospel music scene.
Fans and supporters have taken to social media to send messages of encouragement and prayers for her swift recovery. While the postponement is undoubtedly disappointing for many, the collective sentiment emphasizes understanding and support for Kgapola’s well-being.
As the gospel community awaits further updates, Kgapola’s dedication to her faith and artistry continues to inspire. Updates regarding the rescheduled date for Come Lord Jesus will be shared in due course.
