Thinah Zungu Celebrates 15 Years of Gospel Music with Live Recording Event

Gospel star Thinah Zungu is giving all the glory to God as he marks 15 years in the music industry without failure. The 37-year-old musician from Inanda, north of Durban, says his journey has been sustained by God’s grace, and every milestone is a testament to divine presence in his life.

Known for his hit song Nginguthandiwe, Thinah is preparing to host his second live recording, In His Throne with Thinah Zungu, at the Isibaya Casino Izulu Theatre on Friday, 22 August. He says the event is aimed solely at giving God praise and acknowledging His hand over his career and personal life.

Thinah, who recently appeared in his own reality TV show Thina Singo Zungu on Mzansi Magic, says this live recording will be a spiritual celebration. “The songs that I will be recording live will be about God’s presence and thanking Him for being with me all the way. Having 15 years in the music industry without any failure is not something to be taken for granted. God sustained me and I’m always grateful for that,” he said.

The recording will also serve as a platform for emerging artists, as Thinah is passionate about giving young talent opportunities to shine. He will feature his son, Ndumiso, as well as Bongani Mchunu, a musician he helped and collaborated with in 2014. Another rising star, Mqapheli Ndlovu, will also be part of the line-up, along with other fresh voices.

Thinah is among the few gospel artists who have consistently achieved success in the industry. Over the years, he has released five albums, earned numerous awards including the prestigious Crown Gospel Music Awards, and built a double-storey home in his hometown of Inanda.

He says his approach to releasing music is intentional. “I don’t believe in releasing every year. I believe my music should make a lasting impact in people’s lives. That is why I take my time to release something solid that will last and revive many people,” he explained.

With In His Throne with Thinah Zungu, the celebrated gospel singer is set to deliver a night of worship, gratitude, and inspiration, reaffirming his commitment to using his music to glorify God and uplift listeners.
