Gospel powerhouse Ziyanda Tshangana, known for hits like Angigedwa and the chart-topping Ulihlathi Lethu Thixo, will record her second album, Seek Ye First the Kingdom of God, live at the Prophetic Worship Encounter this Saturday. The event takes place at Calvary Christian Church in Quigney from 3pm to 9pm.
Tshangana has grown from her Sunday School roots into one of the Eastern Cape’s most celebrated gospel voices. Her versatility and ministry continue to inspire worshippers across South Africa and abroad. The live recording is expected to draw worshippers from across the country, reflecting her growing influence in the gospel music scene.
Radio personality Lali Tokwe from Umhlobo Wenene FM is championing the event. Joining Tshangana on stage will be a lineup of notable gospel artists, including Thinah Zungu, Jumbo, EBMQ, Intimate Worshippers, and Xola Tota, who recently joined the acclaimed Spirit of Praise ensemble.
For Thinah Zungu, the event marks a long-awaited return to East London. “It’s been a while since I’ve been to East London. I’m so happy to be back. It’s a Prophetic Worship Encounter, and people should expect a different touch of God,” she said. Zungu also teased a new song recorded live in August, which she plans to perform during the event.
Tshangana reached a major milestone in 2024 when she hosted a live recording for her debut album, Seek Ye First, at a sold-out event at the Guild Theatre. This year’s live recording promises to be even more dynamic. “This year’s Prophetic Worship was inspired by my love of the Lord,” Tshangana said. “I always wanted to give back to Him by gathering His people in one place and worshipping Him, the one who has been the pillar of my strength.”
She added that the event will feature new male collaborations and introduce voices who have been working behind the scenes but have not yet been heard. “It’s a live recording, and it will be different from previous years,” she said. Plans for the year include a Ziyanda Tshangana Homecoming, with a 2026 tour taking Seek Ye First to Cape Town and Johannesburg.
Tshangana’s prayer for the event is that attendees leave feeling revived, restored, renewed, and spiritually aligned. Sandisiwe Maqokoso from EBMQ emphasized the transformative nature of the performance. “We pour everything into our ministry so that no one walks out the same way they came in. People should expect to be revived and experience the presence and power of God,” she said.
Tickets for the Prophetic Worship Encounter are R300 and are available at Checkers and Shoprite outlets nationwide. Fans can expect a spiritually powerful experience, filled with worship, inspiration, and new music from one of South Africa’s leading gospel artists.
