Clevenard SL has announced that celebrated gospel artist and entrepreneur Dr Winnie Mashaba will be honoured with an Honorary Award at the 2026 Clevenard Global Awards – 3rd Edition. The event will take place from 27–30 August 2026 at the Palacio de Congresos in Alicante, Spain. The honorary recognition will be formally presented on Day 4, Sunday 30 August 2026, during the flagship awards ceremony, which runs alongside the International Fashion Runway. The ceremony celebrates exceptional global leaders whose influence transcends borders, industries, and generations. Dr Mashaba’s recognition highlights her impact in both the gospel music arena and international entrepreneurship.
In addition to receiving the Honorary Award, Dr Mashaba will deliver a keynote address on Day 3, Saturday 29 August 2026, during the Global Tourism & International Film Celebration. Her keynote, titled “Women as Africa’s Tourism Diplomats – How South Africa and Africa’s Travel Indaba Are Shaping the Continent’s Global Travel Future,” will explore the critical role of African women in tourism. She will highlight how South Africa’s Travel Indaba positions the continent as a leading global travel destination, while sharing strategies for fostering women’s leadership, creativity, and diplomacy in shaping Africa’s tourism landscape.
Dr Winnie Mashaba is a renowned gospel music icon, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. Born in Steelpoort, Limpopo Province, she began singing at a young age and launched her professional career with the album Exodus 20 in 2000. Over a career spanning more than 25 years, she has released 19 albums, including Menwana Phezulu, Joang Kapa Joang, and Ke Rata Wena, earning Gold and Double Platinum status. Her collaborations with gospel leaders such as Solly Matseba, Sfiso Ncwane, Merriam Moukangwe, and Kutullo Moagi showcase her multilingual abilities and global appeal.
Beyond music, Dr Mashaba is a dedicated entrepreneur and philanthropist. She founded Elegant Class Consulting and Tswako Music Company, providing platforms for emerging musicians and high-quality audio-visual services for corporate and social events. Her community initiatives include donating school uniforms, food parcels, mentoring youth, supporting orphanages, and serving as Ambassador for Polokwane Correctional Centre. She is also pursuing a Diploma in Events Management at the University of Pretoria, reflecting her commitment to lifelong learning and empowering others.
Dr Mashaba’s contributions have been recognized with numerous awards, including the Kora Africa Music Award (2005), multiple nominations for the SA Music Awards and Metro FM Music Awards, Crown Gospel Awards Best Female Artist (2010 and 2013), an Honorary Doctorate in Sacred Music from Trinity International Bible University (2019), and the Legendary Award presented by Bishop Benjamin Dube (2022). Her life and career exemplify her guiding principle: “Appreciate when things go well and always remember to thank God for the gift of life” (Matthew 6:33).
The 2026 Clevenard Global Awards in Alicante, Spain, will honour Dr Mashaba for her remarkable achievements in gospel music, entrepreneurship, and community service, solidifying her legacy as a global inspiration in worship, leadership, and philanthropy.
