Esethu Siwe: “This Is Only the Beginning”

In the vibrant city of Durban, a new chapter in South African gospel music unfolded as Esethu Siwe, a luminous talent from Nyanga, Cape Town, introduced her debut single, Ndobalekela Kuphi, to an audience of thousands at the #JoyousEasterMegaFest. Sharing the stage with the esteemed Joyous Celebration ensemble, Esethu’s performance was more than a musical debut—it was a heartfelt testament to her spiritual journey and artistic evolution.

What a weekend to remember!” Esethu expressed in a heartfelt message. “From sharing the stage with my Joyous Celebration family at the #JoyousEasterMegaFest to introducing my debut single #NdobalekelaKuphi to the world—my heart is full. Thank you for the love, the worship, and the beautiful energy. This is only the beginning, and I’m so grateful to walk this journey with all of you. Ngiyabonga KZN!”

Esethu’s path to this moment has been marked by unwavering faith and dedication. Her musical journey began in the streets of Nyanga, where she honed her craft through local performances and church choirs. In 2015, she auditioned for Joyous Celebration in Port Elizabeth, a pivotal moment that led to her joining the renowned gospel group in 2016. Reflecting on her journey, Esethu credits her sister, Nosipho Manyonga, for encouraging her to pursue this opportunity. “In my wildest dreams, I had never thought I would wear the Joyous gowns, but God had other plans for me,” she shared.  

The release of Ndobalekela Kuphi marks a significant milestone in Esethu’s career. Available on all digital platforms, the song is a heartfelt expression of seeking refuge in God during times of uncertainty. Esethu shared her gratitude and the spiritual significance of this release:
