During her first year of high school, she joined Esibonelwesihle Youth Choir. The choir was directed by her arts and culture teacher Mr Xoki. This experience laid her musical foundation. It also nurtured her passion for performance.
She later joined a church choir at the Assemblies of God called Nominal. This exposed her to musical styles beyond choral music. She then joined Thabiso Moloi’s band as a backing vocalist.
