South African gospel artist Bongiwe Madela has unveiled her latest EP, The Walk, a heartfelt collection of five tracks that delve into themes of faith, love, and divine grace. Released on May 30, 2025, the EP is now available on major streaming platforms, including Apple Music and YouTube .
Madela describes The Walk as “my soul in sound,” emphasizing the personal and spiritual journey encapsulated in each song . The EP opens with “Busa,” a 6-minute and 18-second track that sets a tone of reverence and worship. Following is “uMelusi,” featuring Khaya Sibanyoni, an 8-minute and 34-second rendition inspired by Psalm 23, reflecting on God’s guidance and protection.
“Ngisebenzise,” lasting 5 minutes and 37 seconds, is a plea for divine use and purpose, while “Thando,” at 6 minutes and 37 seconds, explores the depth of unconditional love. The EP concludes with “uMusa,” a 7-minute and 59-second meditation on mercy and grace.
The Walk follows Madela’s previous works, including The Wait (2023) and singles like “Konke Kimi” (2024) and “Fill Us Again” featuring Collen Maluleke (2025), showcasing her evolving artistry in the gospel genre .
